Founder and member of the star Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice will perform with his famous bandmates in the band Purpendicular.
Ian Paice is a great drum icon, founder and continuous member of Deep Purple, co-writer of their greatest hits. Ian Paice is coming on tour with an excellent band to play all the essential Deep Purple hits. Better than his own original!!!
Now he is coming on tour with the band Purpendicular to present his Best-Of-Classic-Deep-Purple-Show. The audience can enjoy Ian Paice in a cozy atmosphere and very close. Ian Paice will demonstrate his unique playing a few meters in front of the audience. They can listen to Deep Purple classics like "Child in Time", "Black Night", "Smoke on The Water", "Woman from Tokyo" or "Hush". And he plays with an incredibly great band. Paice is also a co-writer of the vast majority of Deep Purple's greatest hits.
Purpendicular features bassist Nick Fyffe from Jamiroquai, keyboard star from Italy Alessandro Degiaggi, guitar star Murray Gould from Elton John, Paul McCartney, Joe Bonamassa and Eric Clapton and of course the incredible singer Robert Walsh.
Deep Purple has been hailed since the 1970s as one of the most innovative and successful rock bands of all time, and Ian Paice's drumming has played a big part in that and still does. Deep Purple's music is characterized by a balance of brilliant musicality and monumental simplicity. Paice himself has performed alongside Deep Purple with Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Paul McCartney, The Spencer Davis Group, Velvet Underground and The Maze, to name a few.
Purpendicular is seen by Ian Paice or Joe Lynn Turner as the world's best Deep Purple Tribute Band and has the ability to celebrate and channel this unique Deep Purple magic that is responsible for the success of the legendary band. Richie Blackmore himself said: "Purpendicular is a great band" and Roger Glover mentioned after the show in Basel: "They sound fresh and it's a pleasure to play with them". That's why Steve Morse, Roger Glover, Don Airey and Neil Murray were on the first album "tHis is the tHing". The next album "Venus to Volcanus" was with Ian Paice and keyboardist "Rainbow" Tony Carey. This album reached the Top 20 of all Metal-Rock-Charts.
It will be an experience to see a rock icon up close together with a great band!
The entire tour will take place as part of the Metronome Moon Series.
